Spanish for Teenagers

Centro Bilingüe de San Miguel offers a Strong academic study of the Spanish language in a safe and secure environment for high school students.  In addition to the language classes, our school features extensive excursions to sites of archeological and historical interest and a home stay program with carefully-selected Mexican families who provide a nurturing atmosphere for young adults.

We believe that a high school study abroad program is a superb second language enhancing opportunity, as well as a unique opportunity to mature.  Students who come to our school after a few years of high school Spanish do extremely well on proficiency and placement testing for college.

All students are invited to participate in the local community.  In addition to those activities provided by the families with whom students live, there are concerts, and exhibitions, plays, and other cultural events each week. Field study trips are carefully organized and chaperoned by staff members, and students who participate often report these trips to be among the greatest highlights of their time with us.

SPANISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

High school students enroll in the same intensive Spanish classes as other students. Class-time emphasis is placed on the development of communication skills, and instructors stress speaking and in this week long program, with teachers escorting students to nearby locations (the post office, grocery store, restaurants, etc.) for the purpose of building vocabulary and encountering new learning situations.
